Everyone's a little bit bored..

Hi guys...

I'm back from my grad trip and can i say that its HOT here in Singapore???

Well had lots of fun there and now, i can safely say that i'll probably be able to lose some weight finally, since i'm currently sick of meat, pasta, eggs, cream and burgers. (not to mention that there's a huge hole in my bank account and i will be eating grass for the next two years)

How's ya all doing?

I suppose those wearing green/blue have booked out for the weekend *snigger*...

Aaron and liwei are stuck in corporate hell...

Heng is probably going to start a new life that has no day nor night...

Sio will be helping us maintain our world class transportation system. *shudder*...

Jasen is allegedly going to start his FYP project..

That leaves slacker me (and probably Fred and Kevin) who are still trying to get a job.

This trip to US was pretty good actually, saw lots of interesting people.. (was in san francisco when the high court finally legalised gay marriage..) people who looked great, people who smelled like all the possible earthly vices and people who slept the streets with only a trolley and a cardboard box (think "The persuit of happyness")

I suppose in Singapore, where begging is illegal, gay rights are still being debated and casino still in the process of being built, we've got a really sheltered life.

This trip makes me think that Singapore is like a model city. Literally where everything looks so perfect and neat, where vibrancy was not encouraged and only in recent years, following our economic stability, that we're trying to make it a more metropolitan city. (then again its probably just a ploy to get more foreign talent and boost tourism)

Truth is.... culture, art, history and social structure takes hell of a lot of time to build. And it often takes major events such as war, economic fluctuations, social revolutions and the like to jump start an era of change. I'd like to think that we're starting to open our minds to new ideas these days, but have we really decided to embrace them?

Well long story short... Live for passion people..

If you can't find a job that fuels your passion, at least take up a hobby that allows you to indulge in your inner most desires. Forget about money for just 10% of your time each day and live to be happy. We can't all be rich and/or famous so at least we'll be happy.

With that, we'll probably start to develop some true vibrancy and culture that we can be proud of.

Basically, i have been jobless for weeks and now finally found a job as mrt personnel. So if u travel and see me, walk up and say a hi. I can be ur best frenz, ur bodyguard who watch ur safety,ur caretaker and ur worst nightmare if u ever step on those yellow line. have been on job training for 2 days le, first day, wait the whole day to draw uniform-earned $47 sweet bucks. 2nd days--today, listen to god know what lecture and gai gai around the station and wait wait wait, sleep sleep sleep and dunno break for god know how many hrs-cos trainer is smoker.---early release and earn $47 sweet buck. Tml think gai gai to changi airport see aeroplane then go jurong see student then go raffles see OL. MOndaay, they say go geylang try shoes for the job. free shoes free uniform free ties free belt free pants and free money.

For the past 1 week

It has been a very very shag 1st week at work.... brief summary of what is going on in my life... 1st and 2nd day of work...a big welcome by my sqn...they offered me a 2 day 1 night stay out in the wild with all the fellow mosquitoes...there was no way i could decline this great offer... 3rd day maintenance and slack....4th day.... my sgts drove and bang the rover into the fence...omg...worst thing...i happened to be the only officer there..... what can i say....hokkien has this saying... when a man is down on his luck... rear bird can also become chicken i.e lang suay, qi jiao bian gong guay....kns.... 5th day was the best.... basically all shld be done by 1p.m...i had no idea why battle injects have to keep coming in until i knock off at 5....well done 165SQN..i love ya to bits....

Aaron seems to be having a hard time too.... working on saturdays as well.... well...hang on everyone who is working...hopefully u are having better luck den me...

it has been very long time since i last blog. so let me just give all of u some things to read.. wat to write? some updates lor.. tomorrow i will start work liao.. so sian.. Aaron also.. i am so silly to start work so early.. abit regret though.. i haven enjoy enough lor. still did not have enough of majonging session.. but ok la.. stay at home nothing to do..

so wat have i been doing this few days. rot at home.. first thing wake up in the morning.. on computer to see if there is any challenges in premier football. but always came back with a sad face coz no one challenge and i think the premier football fever is gone.. tere has not been for some time.. james went oversea so he also cannot play le. you ren also never go in so often too le. so who can i challenge? Not Aaron pls. not freddie pls.. waste my attempts onli.. haha

alright i dun know wat to say le.. share update u more after i start work and tell u if my office and other places got lots of chios bus or not.. haha

After witnessing my friends moving out of hall 1 by 1...its time for me to go back home too... wed morning was like madness la...chiong to fyp presentation and came back in the rain.... felix had already left the previous night, and so it was time for the rest to go. Sio was next on the casualty list...sio, next time remember to clean the bloody fan la.... den lunch with aaron and liwei...so called the last lunch in hall 10 for liwei... next up, aaron with his amazing 6 boxes, 2 baskets and 1 table.... last to go was liwei... me left with sayheng shortly after...

2 days of rotting at home, the feeling sux man... no one to talk cock.. (imagine i ask my grandma..eh fark it la...jiang xin shi lehz... i dun think i can imagine the look on her face)... nothing to do except for the dishes and sweeping floor... wat can be worse...

updates: felix started work today.... james will be flying off to san fran tmr....jianping is already in korea, me starting work next mon, which applies to aaron too... the rest, pls remember to update....

Memoirs of mine...

At 5pm, 2nd May 2008 marks the unofficial end of my 4 yrs of academic studies in NTU. I must say, time really flies... still remember the first day entering uni and first night stay in block 50,hall 10. It seems just like yesterday, coming to a place and living together with people you haven met before. But 4 years later, much has come out from such communal living.

As i am saying 'graduate lo' inside my heart, i am saying it with a tinge of sadness and a heavy heart. Like what james said, its amazing how a bunch of misfits can come together to form such a closely knitted family. Remember the times during IH, where we cheered one another on, where we faced defeats and victories together, where we earned glory together... times during the numerous bbqs that we had, the unimaginable number of drinking sessions, and the famous TCS hosted by felix... ahhaa...

Well, even tho we will be going our separate ways, just remember that friendships forged will stay on forever. For the juniors who are still around, it will be ur turn soon. The seniors will still come back to find u all the la... just think back on all the happy times that we had, guess life wont be that difficult after all. To all graduating seniors, the bbq we are having tonight might be 1 of the very few times that we will have full strength. I wish u peeps all the best in ur future adventures and should our paths crossed again...dun pretend u dun know me hor...hahahah

James, my brother in MAE and my partner in crime in the pantry. You have been such a great company to have around. Starting from yr1, fellow actors in drama, fellow cheerleader ( i only joined for 1 day), fellow boatmen in Aqua X, fellow fighter in X-plat...wah actually if the list goes on i might just die...ppl will think i m gay...hahaha...thanks for sticking around...

Jasen, the forever emo brother...thanks for all the dramas that u have sent me. I realised i m the only person that u dint threaten with ur usual threats..hahah guess i m priviledged...better study hard... will come back to find u eat supper very often de..

Liwei, the mahjong god...always a confirmed partner in crime at mahjong... cannot imagine how many rounds of mahjong i have played him... glad that he came to block 50 sia...if not mahjong will never be the same again. Glad to know that u found ur job le...just remember to watch ur blood pressure....wahhahaha

okie...very long...i shag le....the above listed are not in order of importance. for those not mentioned, it doesnt mean u are not important... each of u have become a piece of my jigsaw life, piecing together to build a beautiful memory for me...cannot imagine what life would have been if any piece was missing...

For now, i have to say i will be leaving this place with lots of fond memories, lots of great friends and lots of sadness... if only time would stop....

Felix's recollection post....

I guess its my turn to submit my last post as a Hall 10 resident....haa. While typing this, im recollecting my 3 years of stay in Hall which I originally wanted to stay for only 3 months but "一 住 就 住 了 三 年".

These 3 years I have been unbelievably siao on.....anything also join. Lovebites ah (staying overnight and gambling at NLB)....xplat ah (ridiculous outfits)....painting banners.....sticking stupid leftlets in toilets....best and committed soccer manager....comms hall soccer...FICO at 1am...Corporal Ong (when the river flows down the mountain....there wiiiillll be fisssssh!!) ....watching sio play game...supper outings....enjoying single deluxe....james and terence's cookings....tahaning sio as my room-mate and his "night of fire-liked" songs...countless bbq sessions.....takraw silver medalist...one night stand.....excellent FOC committee and lame FOC cheers...tomyam macoronis....3am ghost story session....W11 challenges....crazy amount of TCS sessions (or rather, nowadays we call it "fuck-it-lar- 講心事-lar sessions")..... haha....all have been great fun man! And of course...the "LEGEND".....wait for it ...wait for it...."DARY" BCM brotherhood. LOL!!

I think that more or less sums up my hall 10 Blk 50 life. And it has really been a good 3 years! im glad and lucky that there are so many same frequency ppl around. haaa.

Well, everything good must come to an end. Its sad...but we just have to move on and look forward to the next phase of our lifes. But like what james say....lets hope we will still be able to meet up often in the future bah!
